Trees
It makes sense that we have a number of different types of display elements in our Christmas show that might be categorized as "trees." This page will describe those different types and how they have been represented in our show over the years.

How We Install Them
Because our yard has very few level/flat areas, we stabilize these trees by attaching them to a T-Post in the center using cable ties.

We purchased ours from SEARS online but a version of this tree has been available at Home Depot.
Pixel Trees

The trees are supplied by Boscoyo as flat pieces of coro. A tree and a star as provided. We use the 180 degree trees but they are also available in a 360 degree format.
How We Light Them
We use Light-O-Rama Cosmic Color Pixels (CCPs) for our trees. The CCPs consist of a self contained controller and two sets of 50 pixels. We use one CCP per two pixel trees as shown in the image. Note: The Stars are lit separately using 12 volt Bullet pixels operated from a DMX controller.
How We Install Them
We mount the assembled tree to a T-Pole using two two #6 machine screws through the back of the tree and through the pole. We install the posts so they are level and equally spaced and then attach the trees to the post keeping it off the ground and secure (even from hurricane force winds). Note: We like the look of a little separation between the trees and the stars so we attach the stars to the post separately from the tree.
Pixel Strip Trees
What we call a "strip tree" is created by applying pixel strips (with attached pixels) to a cone tree base. This section will describe how we construct and use our strip trees.
We purchased a set of three trees (4ft, 5ft and 6ft) from Fry's Electronics for $99.00. The came with multi colored LED lights which we removed.
We applied an appropriate number of pixels, based on the tree height, to pixel strips. We then attached the strips to the trees. Each tree has 6 strips. We also added pixels to the stars that came with the tree.
Power and data start at the first pixel of the first strip. Power only injection points are included between strips 2 & 3 and 5 & 6 and between strip 6 and the star.
Spiral Trees
These are purchased spiral trees that have been retrofitted to pixels.
Wire Trees
This is a purchased tree that we retrofitted for pixels.
