Pixel Matrix - 42 high x 84 wide

This was our second matrix and was constructed using a Monster Matrix Panel purchased from Boscoyo Studios.  This page will describe how we constructed our version of the matrix, including construction, pixel installation and power strategy.

Matrix Construction

This section describes how we constructed the frame to support our monster matrix panel.  

Important! I am going to describe how we constructed the frame for our matrix but I'm going to suggest that you should NOT use the STEEL frame that we sued.

The Components

  • A purchased Monster Matrix Panel from Boscoyo Studios

  • Steel Studs - available at Home Depot or Lowes

  • Self Tapping screws - available at Home Depot or Lowes

  • Aluminum "L" channel - available at Home Depot or Lowes

  • Small screws for attaching "L" channel to frame and monster panel to "L" channel - available at Home Depot or Lowes

Matrix Construction

  • 3,528 Square Node Pixels - We used 12 volt

  • The pixel connecting solution of your choice (solder, solder & shrink, crimp & shrink) - We used solder & shrink.

  • Extra 18 gauge wire
