Let me start by saying that this is a concept that just doesn’t make sense to our human mind. How can one “being” be three persons?  

But, if we try to fit God’s mind into our human box, we have just abandoned the real God and created one of our own. That is sin.

The Truth

The Bible provides these truths about the Trinity.

God

• There is only ONE God who created everything that exists.

• God existed before creation and will never cease to exist.

• God is a single being who consists of three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Spirit (Holy Spirit).

• God is Omniscient (All Knowing) and Omnipotent (All Powerful)

The Father

• A co-equal person of the Trinity.

• Was present before, and involved in, creation. 

• Knows the day/time of Jesus' return (Matthew 24:36)

Jesus

• A co-equal person of the Trinity.

• He was present before, and involved in, creation. (John 1:1)

• God’s ONLY plan (the only way) to redeem fallen humans.

• The only person to walk the earth who was perfectly sinless.

• He does the will of the Father to the glory of the Father

The Holy Spirit

• A co-equal person of the Trinity.

• Was present before, and involved in, creation. (Genesis 1:2)

• Resides in Believers as a Counselor.

• Responsible for convicting sinners of their need for a savior (the first step in salvation).
